Yoga
Yoga is a combination of physical exercise, mental meditation, and breathing techniques to strengthen the muscles and relieve stress. This in turn lowers blood pressure and induces relaxation. Mind/body awareness can influence once mood and self-esteem to enhance the quality of life. In addition to exercise and stress reduction, yoga is also used therapeutically to help children and adolescents overcome medical issues. Yoga instructors experienced in adapting yoga postures for individuals affected by down syndrome, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and cancer, among others.Yoga can be considered as union of the mind with the absolute. It is divided into eight parts – Yama, Niyama, Asana, Prnayama, Pratychara, Dhanana, Dhyanan and Samadhi. One can thus understand one’s own real nature and live life vigorously. The physical postures help the practitioner become very supple and make them attain a high degree of flexibility. The numerous health benefits are beyond everybody’s guess.
